You Belong Together! Happy Anniversary!

Hello everyone!  I love this milk and cookies set from Lawn Fawn and had to pull it out when I made batches of chocolate chip cookies for my father in-law and son.  I'm still on my anniversary stash building kick and thought this was perfect for a couple.  I wanted the focus on the milk and cookies so I made them really bright.
For the front of the card, I stamped the milk and cookies container and color them in with my Copic markers.  Then I stamped the sentiment and added a strip of pattern paper from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine 6x6 paper pad.
For the inside of the card, I stamped the milk and cookies on the plate and color them with Copics before stamping the sentiments.  I used the "you" in Lawn Fawn Winter Owl set and the sentiment from the Milk and Cookies set to finish the sentiment.  I also used the Lawn Fawn Happy Everything set for the anniversary sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by.  Happy crafting!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Hello everyone!   I had to make a Happy Chinese New Year with these adorable pandas from Mama Elephant set, Pandamonium.  I also had to use this Happy New Year sentiment stamp from Design in Squares that I got when I was out in San Francisco a long time ago.  I used to hunt down papercrafting stores when I travelled. It was an awesome way to get to know the area.  I still do that while on vacation, when they are close to my hotel.  I don't want to drag my boys all over town, unless it is on the way to our destination.  That normally keeps the whining to a minimal.  :-D  Though, there has been a few times that Honey surprised me and dropped me off while he did something with the boys after they checked out the place for about 5 minutes (that's about their time limit).  Yup, a vacation within a vacation for me!  I know, I'm so lucky!
Anyway, I created this simple card by layering a white cardbase with gold cardstock.  I stamped the pandas with the sticks on stitched rectangle card die-cut with Lil'Inker's Stitched Rectangle die.  Then I stamped the lanterns in red and connect them by drawing a line.  I mounted this card on red cardstock and adhered it to the card with foam tape.  I really like the way these pandas look with the lanterns.

Love You Tons!

Hello everyone!  I was inspired to make another card for Valentine's Day.  Maybe I was inspired by the recent class I took, but I was in a mood to make a clean and simple card.  I decided to use this cute set from Lawn Fawn, Love You Tons, for my card.  These elephants are just too adorable!  My son loves animals so this card was made with him in mind.
I stamped the sentiment first and then the elephants before coloring them with my markers.  I decided to use the heart in this set and the smaller heart in the Milk and Cookies set.
I used my gold gel pen to add some embellishments on the elephants.  I couldn't help but make them into circus elephants from the way they were stacked up.  I really like the way this card came out.

Happy Birthday!

Hello, everyone!  I love the Lawn Fawn critters set and I couldn't wait to get the Critters In The Arctic set the moment I saw the moose and owl.    I decided to use four of the critters in this card.  I have been stamping these critters out and coloring them while I am waiting for my boys so it was quite quick to put this card together.  All the stamps used are from Lawn Fawn.
First, I created the background with Distress ink and the blending tool on a stitched rectangle die cut from My Favorite Things Blueprint 13.  Then I hand cut some hills on white cardstock that was also die cut from the same stitched rectangle die before stamping the sentiment from Happy Everything and placing them onto the cardbase.
I stamped the balloons from Hello Sunshine set and fussy cut them out and attached embroidery thread to them and adhered everything down, making sure to pull the threads taut.  I place the bunny on top of the balloon strings along with the rest of the critters onto the card.  I placed the number stickers onto the heart shape balloon to finish the card.

Floral Mother's Day Cards

Hello everyone!  I know that I am a tad bit early.  :-D  But I couldn't help it when I pulled out this Wplus9 Pretty Peonies set and started to use it.  I immediately thought of spring and that lead to thoughts of my mothers and how they both have the green thumb.  Anyway, I saw Dawn's video on using Copic colorless blender and markers on roses and I had to try it on these flowers since I don't have the rose set yet.  It proved to be a lot harder since I had to look up what peonies look like in nature.  My peonies look more like roses to me, so forgive me, if it doesn't have all the variation and coloring of a true peony.
I stamped the peonies with both Memories red ink and Hero Arts Neon pink ink since that is the only inks I have.  I inked up in Memories ink first and stamp off before inking again with Neon pink ink.  This process muted the color of the flowers and leaves.  These inks worked with the colorless blender in removing some of the color.  I stamped the inside of the flowers using the same technique of ink blending, before coloring with my Copic markers, R29 and R39.  I did the same thing with the leaves, using YG17 and YG67.  This whole process was quite relaxing to me and I loved the results.  As you can see, I created two cards since I couldn't stop at one.

For the sentiment, I die cut the "happy" with Mama Elephant dies three times on black cardstock and adhered them together.  Then I stamped the other part of the sentiment from Winnie&Walter's The Big, The Bold and The Happy set on pink cardstock.  I added the sentiment to the card before adding it to the cardbase layered with black cardstock.  I finished the card with some gems.

The card above and below are first attempt at this technique and layout.

Day 7 of Clean And Simple 4 Class: Thanks For Everything You Do

On the last day and yet another bonus day of Clean and Simple4: Technique Made Simple online card class, we were shown different cards using the same stamp set.  I love the fact that these classes have bonus days, it makes for a nice and welcome surprise.  Anyway, I decided to CASE Jennifer's card.
I happen to have a wooden apple stamp that I got from somewhere and used it for this card with my stamp positioner for her inking technique.   I used Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder for the heat-embossed sentiment from Winnie&Walter The Big, The Bold and The Happy, and Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes sets.  For the background, I used My Favorite Things Diagonal Stripes stamp.
I like the dimensions created with an illusion of it being one piece.

Day 6 of Clean And Simple 4 class: Floral Anniversary Card

It was a nice surprise to have a Day 6 of theClean and Simple 4: Technique Made Simple online card class where we were shown projects done with five products.  I thought I create this simple background that Tasnim showed us.  Her card looked so elegant that I wanted to try it out with some new floral stamps that I got for Christmas.
I used my set WPlus9 Small Peonies set to create the floral arrangement.  I have to admit that I went a little crazy coloring this since I was pre-occuppied with watching the superbowl.  I was following Dawn Woleslagle's technique in giving these flowers more dimension.  I have to explore this technique some more but it was fun coloring them.
I used the sentiment from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings and stamped and embossed on black cardstock.  I finished the card with some gold sequins.  I really like the colors in this card the more I look at it.

Day 5 of Clean And Simple 4: Super Hugs!

On Day 5 of the Clean and Simple 4: Technique Made Simple online card class, we were shown some inking tricks.  I used the direct to paper technique and I was thinking exactly what Kristina pointed out, this is a waste of ink but she is right, I have so many inks that I don’t really use enough of.  Anyway, I decided to use this Encore metallic pigment ink that I have not use in ages even though I should be using dye based ink.  I thought I give it a try.  It did take a long time to dry but since it was late in the night, I stopped at this point for it to dry overnight.
I haven’t made a shape card in a while, so it was fun to make this circle card by hand instead of using my Silhouette Studio.  Also, I pulled out my other Encore Metallic inks that I have not used in a while to use with all these border stamps.  This is what I love the most about these online card classes, besides learning some cool techniques, I actually use my stash and often rediscover a love for certain images and sets.

Day 4 of Clean And Simple Class: Another Anniversary Card

On Day 4 of the Clean and Simple 4: Technique Made Simple online card class, we focused on adding texture.  I dabbled in cross stitched and the thought of doing it on a card sounds like too much, but once I started on this card, it went pretty quickly.  Also, since I am currently working on a quilt, the idea of getting out the needle and thread for this was not that appealing even though I like the look.  I’m actually taking this class as a break from my quilting.   I was surprised once again by how much I liked it.  Funny, how the two worlds are crossing over.
Anyway, I’m still on my stash building of anniversary cards so I pulled out my sentiment from Hero Arts Everyday Sayings set.  I traced die cuts from Lil’Inker stitched heart dies and chose two different sizes to give it some interest.

I did not have pink embroidery thread so I used my Copic RV00 marker and color my white embroidery thread to make my own.  I was all proud of myself for using one of the techniques I learned from the Copic Online card class and saving myself a trip to the store.

Day 3 of Clean And Simple 4 class: Happy Anniversary

On Day 3 of the Clean and Simple 4: Technique Made Simple online card class, we focused on inked background.  I decided to try inking my background stamp with white pigment ink from Simon Says Stamp for the cardbase.  Then I stamped the leaves from Amuse studio Botanical 2 set.

Trying to build up a stash of anniversary cards, I used the Mama Elephant happy die and Winnie and Walter’s The Big, The Bold and The Happy set to build the sentiment.  The banner is from Winnie and Walter’s The Big, The Bold and Extras.
I added some gems and a butterfly die cut from Stampin’ Beautiful Wings embossilit to finish up the card.
