Floral Notecards Set

Hello everyone!  I am still playing with Wplus9 Pretty Peonies set and you might have seen one of these cards on Instagram since I sent one of these a while ago.  I originally intended to give these set of cards as gifts but loved them so much that I kept them in my stash.  :-D  I am making more when I get some time since I know my mother-in-law will love them.
First I stamped the peonies and foliage in Memento inks(Angel Pink, Rose Bud, Dandlion, Pear Tart, New Sprout and Bamboo Leaves).  Then I used Copic markers to highlight the colors and shadow of the flowers and leaves.  You can watch Dawn Woleslagle's Copic technique on Youtube on how to do this.  I just love watching her videos and seeing her projects, super talented!
I used different sentiments on the cards for variety.  They are from Winnie and Walters The Big, The Bold and You and Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes sets.
I added some gems to finished some of the cards.  I love the little drop of bling on the card, like dew on the flowers.
I also varied each card a little in where I stamped the flowers and how many of them.
I love how brilliant these flowers looked enhanced with Copic coloring.

You Are Amazing

Hello everyone!  I love playing with WPlus9 Pretty Peonies and the simple beauty of these flowers remind me of my mother.  With Mother's Day coming up, I kept this card simple for my mother since that is exactly what she likes.  My mother is amazing, and I am sure many people feel the same way about their mother.  However, my mother did not have a typical childhood or motherhood, and as an adult and a mother, I've come to realize how strong and amazing she is.  She, of course, would dismiss it and say that everything she did was simply something that had to be done.  I will not disclose her whole story but she has escaped communism twice, once as a child of 9 and again as a mother, and got us all out to freedom safely.  I remember bits and pieces of our journey since I was so young, and continue to discover more of it through my siblings.  I am truly blessed to have a mother whose strength and will are beyond measures.  This is a big shout out to my mother and all the single mothers out there, like my Mom; remember that you are AMAZING!  Thank you and love you, Mom!
I stamped the flowers and stems with Memento inks before using my Koi watercolor set to color in the flowers.  Below are the stamps and inks(Angel Pink and Pear Tart), I used to stamp the flowers.
I bent the stamps for the stems to give it a natural look.  Since the stamps images are sketchy, I used my watercolor to fill them in when I was coloring.

Then I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Inside & Out Sayings set on a strip of vellum.  I wrapped the sentiment around the card before rounding the corners and attaching it to a white cardbase.  I also rounded the corners on the card before adding some pearls to finish the card.
I love this Pretty Peonies set from Wplus9 for simple cards.

Hello

Hello everyone!  Since I live in a house full of boys, I had to get this stamp set from Avery Elle called Fly By.  The boys love going to the Fly-in at the airport where planes and occassionally, helicopters fly in for a breakfast.  We get to see all types of interesting planes and I, for one, love seeing the biplanes.  More fascinating than that are the conversations we have with the pilots and the people we meet.  It is usually an event that we look forward to going to and they even had a stunt competition that just amazed us one year.  Anyway, I love this set and using the Distress inks to create a watercolor effect for the sky and coloring the plane.
First I stamped the plane, clouds and the sentiment onto watercolor paper.  I used Distress ink and water to color the images, Stormy Sky for the plane and China Blue for sky.  Then I rounded the corners before layering it with pattern paper from Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine 6x6 pad.  I placed the card onto a cardbase layered with yellow pattern paper.  I finished the card with some sequins.

Watercolored Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!  I have been wanting to make this card eversince I've got this background stamp from Hero Arts called Looped Circle Pattern.  I have been having fun with my watercolors and couldn't wait to use it with this stamp.  I made the background during Kathy's Coloring Challenge and finally put it together for a card.
I stamped and heat embossed the background with Versamark ink and white embossing powder on watercolor paper.  I used my Koi watercolor set to color the background.  Then I die cut the happy sentiment from Mama Elephant several times and glue it all together before placing it on the card. Then I stamped and heat-embossed the birthday sentiment on vellum and glue it to the card on top of the happy sentiment.  I placed the card onto a cardbase layered with black cardstock.  Then I finished the card with a heart die cut on the sentiment made from Mama Elephant confetti die.
I love the bright colors in this simple card.

Thanks So Much

Hello everyone!  I finally got to play a little bit more with the Simon Says Stamp March 2015 card kit.  Sorry if all my floral cards are starting to look the same.  I'm really into the floral scene in the corner lately.  I have been going back and forth between  using my Copics and watercolor as my coloring medium since they are both my favorite now.  This time I used Distress ink to stamp my images on watercolor paper.  Then I added more color to each flower and leaf with a brush to give them more definition.
I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter set and placed the card onto the cardbase covered with yellow cardstock that came in the kit.
I finished the card with Wink of Stella on the flowers and gems scattered on the card.

For Someone Special

Hello everyone!  I can finally feel spring in the air with 50 degrees weather.  I even went into my garden to get it ready to plan some early vegetables.  I'm so excited for warm weather and the summer.  Anyway, I decided to pull out one of my favorite flowers die, Gerbera Daisy, from My Favorite Things to bring spring closer to me.
First, I layered the white cardbase with pattern paper from Lawn Fawn Let's Polka pad and then a strip of gray cardstock.  I die cut some Gerber daisies and leaves from MFT Blueprint #14 and assembled them together onto the card.  Then I stamped the sentiment from MFT I Picked You set on yellow cardstock and cut a banner tail before adhering it to the card.  I finished the card with some pearl embellishments.

Omm...Yum!

Hello everyone!  Since it is spring break, I have my mind on the beach, especially with summer planning going on here.  The Simon Says Stamp Work Out set is still one of my favorites to color, especially since I met some fitness friends.  I remember seeing workout videos set on the beach and I've thought it must be so fun and relaxing simply by being there.  I also remember having breakfast while I was watching these videos.  :-D  I know that it kind of defeats the purpose, but I just remember how much fun it was watching someone else sweat and learning new moves.  Usually I take note of the exercise to try later in my own exercise routine.  Anyway, I decided to put my yoga girl on the beach and getting distracted very easily since it is her birthday.  This scene was so much fun to create.

I used Lawn Fawn Milo's ABC to create the sentiment first on a stitched rectangle die cut from MFT Blueprint 13 and added the dots with a black Micron pen.  Then I drew in the thought bubble after coloring and fussy cutting the yoga girl and cupcake from Fiskars The Sweet Life set.  I used Lawn Fawn Life Is Good to create the beach scene.  For the sand, I stamped with Desert Sand Memento ink and for the ocean, I used Summer Sky Memento ink.  I used my Copic markers(B000 and B00 for sky,  B12 and B14 for the ocean and E00 and E11 for the beach) to color the background in.
After the background was created, I added the girl and cupcake to the card with foam tape before adding it to a white cardbase.  I had such a fun time creating this scene and card, and really love the way it came out.

Have A Peep-tastic Day!

Hello everyone!  Happy Easter for those who celebrate it!  I was surprised the other day by a chocolate basket filled with chocolate candy and a chocolate bunny.  I actually felt like a giddy kid, especially since I rarely ever get surprises.  I had a tough finding a masculine thank you card so I created this quick one for my friend.  I definitely need to get into the masculine card mode since I don't have any birthdays and thank you cards.  Anyway, I used only Avocado Arts Spring Medley stamp set for this card.

First, I stamped and cut out the bunnies.  I used my Copic markers to give them some shading.  Then I stamped the sentiment in Versamark ink.  This ink is becoming my favorite ink.
