Penguin Cheers!

Hello everyone!  I apologize for missing last week's post.  I was too busy to blog my creations.  Between summer activities and my garden, blogging is the last thing on the list.  I am thoroughly enjoying my gardens this summer, not just the flowers, but also the fruits and vegetables I am getting out of them. Anyway, this Penguins in Paradise set from My Favorite Things is perfect to use on birthday and summer related cards.  These penguins are just adorable and I couldn't wait to color them in.  And oh yes, shaker cards are still one of my favorites to make.
First, I stamped and color in the penguin with Copic markers before cutting it out.  I also stamped the sun from My Favorite Things Every Day is a Picnic on pattern paper before cutting it out.  Then I used dies from Papertrey Ink's Sprinkle and Shaker kit to create the frame for the shaker, as well as cutting the foam.  I stamped the sentiment from My Favorite Things Written In Watercolor set on pattern paper before gluing on some sequins.  Then I assembled the shaker and added the sequins and beads before sealing them in.  I added the shaker to the card base before adding the penguin and sun to the corners of the shaker.
Sorry about the glare.  This penguin is sooo adorable!

Yappy Birthday!

Hello everyone!  Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  I am finally getting into the swing of it.  Anyway, I recently discover another stamp company that I am enamored with and once you see the products from Sugar Pea Designs, you will see why.  I love dog stamps and this set, Hot Diggity Dog, is just so cute and a must-have for me.  This dog is sooo darn cute and of course, I had to color him with the same colorings as my dog, Albus. Also, I am going to use the sketch from this week's Freshly Made Sketches to make my card.  I love using their weekly sketches for my cards.  They make them much more interesting.

First, I stamp, color and cut out the dog and doghouse from Sugar Pea Designs Hot Diggity Dog set.  I placed them onto the card, based on the sketch with foam tape.  Then I finish the card with the sentiment and some dog bones.  Easy-peasy!  Love that dog!

Nautical Smiles

Hello everyone!  I love sailboats!  I love seeing them, especially around sunset time.  It falls under the category of most romantic sight for me.  When Simon Says Stamp came out with their Sail Away With Me Card kit and it was nautical themed, I was so excited!  I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.  Also, nothing speaks of summer to me more than a sailboat.  Reminds me of when I was younger, and my brother and his family used to take me out fishing by the bay.  We saw some amazing sailboats and boats.  Anyway, I used Freshly Made Sketches #193 to create this card using the Simon Says Stamp July 2015 card kit.
Following the sketch, I layered the card base with pattern paper from the kit.  Then I stamped the sailboats and color them with Copic markers before cutting them out and placing them onto the card with foam tape.  After that, I stamped the clouds and cut them out before adhering them to the card.   I stamped the sentiment from Mama Elephant Up and Away to finish the card.
I love the colors in this card and of course, the sailboats!
