Island Birthday Wishes

Hello everyone!  I'm back with another card that I made using My Favorite Things Polynesian Paradise set.  This time I am using MFT Card Challenge: sketch #243 to create these two cards for my nieces.  Since I love watercolor so much, I had to use some of it to make my background for these cards.  I haven't made square cards in a while, so it felt good to them again.
Using the MFT sketch, I layered the background with stitched square die cut made with one of the MFT blueprint #14 dies.  Then I die cut a stitched square on watercolor paper and color it to create a background for my island girl.  After the background dried, I stamped the sentiment and add it onto the card.
I stamped the island girl and the tree from MFT Penguins In Paradise set and color them both with Copic markers.
I adhered the tree to the card and used foam tape for the girl to pop her up.
For the inside of the card, I stamped a birthday sentiment from Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages set and added the flowers that I stamped and color from the MFT Polynesian Paradise set.
I created the same card again and just changed the color of her top and flower.
I got these envelopes from my niece and have not used them since I have not created any square cards and found them to be perfect for these cards.

Sunny Smiles

Hello everyone!  I decided to spoil myself a little when I took a trip to NYC and stopped at The Ink Pad.  I had to pick up this set, Polynesian Paradise, from My Favorite Things, since I love all things from Birdie Brown.  The girl from this set is sooo adorable, and I couldn't wait to color her with Copic markers.  I have been on a watercolor kick lately, but I just wanted to color her in Copics first before anything else.  I used Freshly Made Sketch #201 to create this card.
First, I stamped green cardstock with one of the flowers from the same MFT set, Polynesian Paradise, with Versamark ink repeatedly to create the background.  Then I added it to the cardbase before stamping the sentiment on blue cardstock and adding it to the card based on the sketch.
I stamped the clouds from Simon Says Stamp Sailing set, and added it to the card as well as a circle die cut.  Then I stamped the girl and bird, and color them with Copics before adding them to the card.  To finish the card, I used a glitter pen to add some bangles on her.  What a fun card to make!

Celebrate

Hello, everyone!  After making the first card with sketch #200 from Freshly Made Sketches in celebration of their 200th sketch, I was inspired to make another one.  I know, two in a roll!  I was so motivated and inspired!  Of course, it involves watercolors, one of my favorite mediums to work with.
Using the waves stamp from Simon Says Stamp Sailing stamp set, I stamp the waves repeatedly on watercolor paper and heat embossed them.  I used my Koi watercolor set and watercolor the waves and the sky.  Then I stamped the sentiment from Avery Elle Bunting set before adding the sailboat that I stamped and colored with Copic markers.

Cheers!

Hello everyone!  I love penguins and when My Favorite Things came out with Penguins in Paradise, I had to get the set.  I finally have a chance to play with them again and place them on a card.  It's so bad that I have a bunch of stamps and supplies waiting for me to play with and not enough time to do so.  That's what happens in the summer, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this.  Anyway, I had to play with sketch #200 from Freshly Made Sketches in celebration of their 200th sketch.  When I need inspiration and motivation, this is the blog that I go to.  A big thanks to them and a big congratulations to Freshly Made Sketches!
First, I follow the sketch and layered my card base with pattern paper from my Simon Says Stamp June card kit.  Then I stamped the penguin and color him with Copic markers before adding him to the card.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set and drew in the exclamation mark.
I stamped the card on the inside with the sentiment from My Favorite Things and Hero Arts Many Birthday Messages, and added a penguin colored with Copic markers.

Sympathy Card

Hello everyone!  Unfortunately, I am reaching a point in my life where I often have to create sympathy cards.  They're not fun to make, but a necessity.  I used sketch #199 from Freshly Made Sketches to create this card.
First, I stamped the tree (K-2184) from PSX in black Versafine ink.  Then I layered the bottom with embossed cardstock made with Sizzix dot embossing folder.  To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts With Sympathy set and cut an angle on the banner before placing it onto the card.

Unforgettable Birthday

Hello everyone!  I have to admit that being on vacation this time made me unmotivated to do much else, except relax.  I brought tons of art supplies with me, but the only thing I did was doodle a few things here and there.  I'm on Instagram, participating in a doodle challenge, check out my super amateur doodles.  After vacation, I still felt the same way even though the piles of laundry and unpacking tell me to get off my bottom and get to work pronto.  Also, my mojo and motivation are still on vacation and don't want to come back.  :-D  Anyway, I used Freshly Made Sketches weekly sketch to help me get back into the groove, something I can always count on.
First, I die cut a stitched rectangle with Lil' Inker Stitched Rectangle die and my Fiskars Fuse.   Then I stamped the elephant from WPlus9 Unforgettable set before I watercolor him with Distress markers and stamped the sentiment.  I stamped the balloon and cut it out before I watercolor it, drew the string and add the balloon to the card with foam tape.
I layered the card with another stitched rectangle and pattern papers following the sketch before I added the elephant card.  Love the elephant and watercoloring is still one of my favorite coloring mediums.

Kids Pocket Letter

Hello everyone!  Another quick post of a pocket letter that I made for my son.  This was made with a variety of stamps and pattern paper that he loves.
For the first row, I used Hero Arts Hello Stamp and Cut set for the die and the coordinating stamps to create the sentiment.  I stamped, color and cut out the frozen treats from Simon Says Stamp Ice Cream Dream before placing it onto the second card and stamping the coordinating sentiment.  The last card was made with Simon Says Stamp Filled With Love set.
For the second row, I used stamps from My Favorite Things (dogs and sentiment) and Lawn Fawn (fan and sentiment).
For the last row, I used stamps from Lawn Fawn (owl), My Favorite Things (cat in box) and Mama Elephant (two cats and sentiments)

Pocket Letter Using SSS March Card Kit

Hello everyone!  Just a quick post to show you the pocket letter that I made for a friend of mine.  I love the pattern paper that came in the Simon Says Stamp March 2015.
First, I select and cut all the pattern paper to fit the pockets at the size of 2.5"x3.5".

I used a sentiment die cut made from Simon Says Stamp for the first card.  Then I stamped the roses and leaves from Penny Black Petal Power set and added enamel dots to the second card.  For the third card, I just used K&Company dimensionals for my friend to use.
For the second row, the first card, I used Hello die cut made with Hero Arts Stamp and Cut and stamped the coordinating sentiment on a banner.  I just stamped the sentiment from Mama Elephant Up and Away set for the second card.  For the third card, I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Flowers On My Mind set and added a flower printed and cut from my Copic online class.
I cut out the image from the pattern paper and placed it onto another pattern paper for the first card.  For the second card, I stamp and cut out the flower and leaves and placed them onto the card with letter stickers.  For the last card, I placed the hummingbird stamped and colored with Copic markers.
