Spooky Halloween

Hello everyone!  I love watercolors and when I don't use it for a while, I miss it and have a hankering to use it.  Silly, right?!  Lately, I find myself torn between using my Copic markers or my watercolors or supplies that creates a watercolor look.  I know.  There just isn't enough time to play with both.  I only allot myself a little bit of crafting time each week, so I can get my other chores done.  :-)  Anyway, I love Lawn Fawn Critters in Costume set, especially that superhero owl.  I love superheroes so this owl was just perfect!
First, I stamped the critters in Versafine ink.  I love using Versafine ink for sentiment and being able to use it with watercolor makes me like this ink even more.  Then I used Distress inks and a water brush to create the background.  I also used Distress inks to color in the critters.  As a finishing touch, I added Wink of Stella to the wings and stars to the sky with a white gel pen.

Have A Cool Day!

Hello everyone!  Sorry for not posting last week.  Life have gotten in the way.  I have gotten this My Favorite Things Cool Day set a while ago and have been meaning to play with it for a while.  Ironically, on the first real cool day here, I get to play with it.  I absolutely adore these polar bears!!!  I love polar bears so of course, when Birdie Brown drew these, I had to get them.
Following the sketch from Freshly Made Sketch #204, I layered the navy card base with a strip of snowflake pattern paper.  I stamped the bears and sign from the MFT Cool Days set, and color them with Copic markers before cutting them out.
Then I used my Distress ink pads and inking tool to create the background.  I cut some snow hills and placed them on the card along with the bears and signs.  Then I placed the card on to the card base.  To finish the card, I used my Wink of  Stella on the sign and snow.

I love these bears!  They are just soooo cute!
Thanks for stopping by.  Happy crafting!

Spooky Halloween

Hello everyone!  With the start of school, my mind is on fall activities, and of course, Halloween, is one of the festivities we participate in.  I have gotten this Lawn Fawn Critters In Costume set a while ago, but have not used it.  Lately, I have been trying to use my stamp sets that I have not used but bought a long time ago.  It is a little reminder to myself to use what I have before I buy other things that are on my wish list.  Anyway, I love the critters in this set and thought it would be perfect to use it with the watercolor background I created with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens,
First, I scribbled some colors onto watercolor paper that was die cut with MFT Blueprint #20, before using my water brush to spread and blend the colors together to create the background.  Then I die cut orange cardstock with the rectangle scallop die from the same blueprint set.  I layered a white card base with the orange cardstock and the watercolor card.  Then I stamped the sentiment.  I stamped the owl and cat from Lawn Fawn Critters In Costume set, and color them before I fussy cut them out.  I placed them on the card with foam tape before stamping the word bubble sentiment on orange cardstock and attaching that too.
I love the splash of color for the background for the critters.  Those critters are just toooo cute!!
Thanks for stopping by.  Happy crafting!
