Bridezilla

Hello, everyone!  I love the Julie Nutting collection and this one is just so pretty.  She reminds me of a bride.  All my friends are married so I don't get to make wedding cards or bridal cards that often. So when there is an opportunity I am thrilled to pull this stamp out.

I kept it simple and have the focus on the bride. I used my markers to color her features and then decorate her head band and gave her a necklace with some gems.

I wanted her to pop a little so I added blue around the image.

Beach Babes

Hello, everyone!  I love the girlfriends series from Art Impressions.  They remind me so much of my girlfriends.  Where ever we are, there is always laughter and an adventure waiting for us.  I had to make this card for one of my girlfriends who is going to a tropical island.  We will be with her in spirit, for sure.
Art Impressions Beach Babes stamp set from Michaels with Lawn Fawn Life Is Good set
Even though it is a one layer card, this card took some time to make with all the Copic coloring.  I masked off the main image to fit another gal in.  I also masked off part of the image to fit the palm trees from Lawn Fawn Life Is Good set.  I had to improvise a little and extend the tree to make it taller and in the background.
After coloring the ladies and the tree, I colored in the sand and sky.  I stamped the starfish and scallop shell and colored them in at this point.
I used my micron.005 pen to go over all the images to make them pop and give the image the same outline look.  This is the most nerve-racking part of the card since it takes only one false move to mess up the whole card.  I did not outline the sun since I want it to be muted and bright from the colors, not the lines.  Finally, I used my C03 to create the shadows.

Peep-Tastic Day

Hello, everyone!  I may be behind in posting but I have been busy in the craft room with this and that.  This is one of my favorite sets from Simon Says Stamp that came in the card kit.  I love bunnies and these peeps just melt my heart the moment I saw them.

Keeping it simple, I just used the pattern paper that came in the kit and stamped the peeps and fussy cut them out.  I also stamped and cut out the bow ties and color them in with my markers.  I wanted a card that I can use on occasions besides Easter so I choose the sentiment from Avocado Arts Spring Medley set and adhered the peeps after I stamped it.
I used foam adhesive the one in the middle.  I love how quick this card came together and it is so bright.

Skatin' By To Say

Hello, everyone!  Since I skipped last week, I figure I give you a double whammy.  With the snow days, we are having, I was inspired to pull out my penguins despite the fact that my daffodils have sprouted.  It has been a warm winter and I barely got out any snow related stamps but this one from Lawn Fawn is a classic and paired up with Mama Elephant Jolly and Merry set, they are a match made.
Keeping it simple, I stamped the penguin and color  him in with my Copic markers.  Then I stamped the sentiment underneath as well as the heart swirl with blue ink.
I stamped the inside to complete the sentiment as well as another penguin.  I rarely make CAS cards but every now and then I have to embrace the whiteness.  :-D

Floral Thanks

Hello, everyone!  Quick post from me using one of my favorite sets from Altenew, Beautiful Day.   I absolutely love this set since I can color it or use the other stamps in the set to create a colorful flower. I made a few these cards to have on hand so I have time to play.
First, I stamped on a Stitched rectangle cardstock that was die cut.  I masked off the large flower to stamp the leaves and the little flowers. Then I went to town with my Copic markers and colored in the images.
I added a "thanks" die cut made with Mama Elephant die that I layered with several pieces to give it dimension.  I finished the card by layering the card with black cardstock before placing it onto a white card base.
